Diwali - Festive Mood
It's festive mood all around. Diwali is almost here. People are very busy preparing for the celebrations. From children to elders there is cheer in everyone's place. Since, we have been living in Tamil Nadu from my childhood, we do take part in the celebrations like buying new clothes for the kids, making / buying sweets and snacks and bursting crackers.
KP and I went to the town on Sunday, to catch up the festive mood. Here are some snaps taken in the busy street of X-cut Road.
We did some window shopping first and then dropped in to The Chennai Silks and Sri Devi Textiles which are the show rooms among the most popular showrooms.
The shops were crowded like anything. We bought some for dress items for the kids in the both showrooms and then went to Titan showroom and then walked through the streets just to catch up the mood in the camera. Bought some flowers from the street hawker.
One man came running to us thinking that we're journalists. He asked us to take snaps of the street hawker and her husband. He also requested us to write about them in the newspaper. They didn't have time to listen to our explanations.
They both continued their business and we ours. We didn't wait to go for the hotels, since they were crowded. KP preferred home food. So we got back home.
Parents, couples, friends, elders, youngsters, kids all thronged at the busy street each one sharing the moment of joy and ready to welcome the festival in all full zeal.
We didn't take our vehicles since we had parking difficulties. We picked the bus which again was heavily crowded. Somehow we managed to get back home with not much complications.
